A TALE OF TWO YARNS - 2KCBWDAY1

Sock yarn is one of my favourite yarn weights as it is so versatile. Use it for sturdy socks, hats, gloves or delicate lace shawls and scarfs and just about anything you can think of.

I've bought  7 Small Shawls to Knit by Romi Hill on Ravelry. I dyed the yarn below especially for Taygete shawl from this e-book. I am going to Wales for two weeks and this is going to be my holidays project. I can't wait - I've already cast on! :-)

I am also a proud owner of Ashford Joy spinning wheel and I love to spin. I only wish I had more time for spinning. I am intrigued to see the process of yarn being born from start to finish.

I spun a merino fleece, then dyed it into this colourway and plied it with a golden thread.

I then made it into this capelet.

It turned out very nice I think..:-)

  2. Sock yarn is incredibly useful, but it takes so long to knit with! Tiny stitches.
